Russian Academy of Sciences Far East Division Selects Orbital Systems Earth Observation System

Orbital Systems Installs Earth Observation System in Vladivostak Russia

Irving, TX - For Immediate Release - When the Russian Academy of Sciences was searching for a suitable Earth Observation System (EOS) for their Far East Division, they chose Orbital Systems (www.orbitalsystems.com), a leading manufacturer of ground station antenna systems located thousands of miles away in Irving, TX. Orbital installed the X and L Band EOS antenna system in January, braving hostile weather conditions. "The day of the installation it was -20 Celsius and there were 40km/hr winds" recalls Carl Schoeneberger of Orbital Systems. "Our EOS is more than capable of withstanding conditions such as those presented in Vladivostak, but it made the installation quite interesting to say the least."

Orbital's earth stations utilize tightly sealed designs that use pressurized dry air to protect the system and eliminate condensing humidity and corrosion as well as heavy-gauge aluminum with powder coating finishes to eliminate corrosion and provide durability. This makes the company's product ideal for hostile environments. In fact, the installed system at Vladivostak has an exceptional performance record of zero electro-mechanical failures to date.
